Ratings Report:

  • NBC was on top for the night once again, with THE VOICE staying steady week to week with a 1.9 among adults 18-49. MANIFEST also led the 10pm hour, but was down a tenth against itself, to earn a 1.4 this time around.
  • For ABC, a special “Disney Night” installment of DANCING WITH THE STARS helped boost the competition series by two tenths to score a 1.1 this week. However, the numbers may adjust down later in the day, as the score was (at least partially) inflated by a live football pre-emption in Atlanta.
  • On CBS, both freshman series THE NEIGHBORHOOD (1.1) and MAGNUM PI (0.8) were even with last week, while BULL managed to tick up slightly to 0.8 over last week’s 0.7. However, new comedy HAPPY TOGETHER faltered, down a tenth to 0.8 and leaving a question mark over whether it will pick up a back 9 order (the only new CBS show not to have done so).
  • On FOX, THE RESIDENT continued to hold steady with another 1.0, while 911 fell a tenth from a 1.4 to a 1.3 this time around.
  • CW’s ARROW maintained the same 0.4 rating it scored with its premiere last week, while returning series LEGENDS OF TOMORROW premiered to a series low 0.3.

Of Note:

  • While it still held onto the top spot on Sunday cable, THE WALKING DEAD fell to a new series low for the second straight week. The AMC zombie series posted a 1.9 rating in adults 18-4, down a tenth from both its last episode and its previous series low. AMC’s TALKING DEAD after show came second in the night with a 0.6. 90 DAY FIANCE on TLC rounded out the top three, also with a 0.6.
  • Elsewhere, BBC America’s DOCTOR WHO just barely landed outside of the top 25, falling another tenth from its previous 0.4 to a 0.3.

OTHER NEWS:

  • PROJECTS GREENLIT/ORDERED:
    • ABC is considering longer runs for freshman series A MILLION LITTLE THINGS and THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT, ordering three more scripts from each show. Both series had OK starts (1.1 for Million and 1.4 for Kids), although Million has shown dramatic gains in L+3 ratings for Wednesday primetime shows, and has topped that list for the past three weeks. Kids premiered behind The Conners just last week, so doesn’t have a lot of ratings data yet, but the show has garnered critical praise.
