Of Note:

  • USA’s WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW landed the two top spots of the night with consistent 1.0s across its 3-hour run time, up a tenth from the 0.9 peak rating it had hit a week ago. LOVE & HIP HOP: HOLLYWOOD on VH1 held steady with another 1.0, good enough for the number two slot.
  • AMC’s BETTER CALL SAUL experienced a predictable ratings dip following its season premiere last week, dropping two-tenths from a 0.6 to a 0.4 rating in adults 18-49 with 1.55 million viewers, a new series low.
  • On MTV, both TEEN MOM II (0.7) and FLORIBAMA SHORE (0.4) were even with their previous episodes as well, though, a second episode the docuseries dropped a tenth to 0.3. Elsewhere, Bravo’s REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY ticked up from a 0.5 to a 0.6.

OTHER NEWS:

  • DEVELOPMENT NEWS:
    • Thanks Sony Pictures TV, for making Delta Burke relevant again in 2018. In today’s edition of “yet another reboot,” the studio is actively working on a reboot of 80s/90s sitcom DESIGNING WOMEN, once again centering on the lives of four women and one man working together in an Atlanta interior design firm.
  • PROJECTS GREENLIT/ORDERED:
    • WE tv has (unsurprisingly) renewed recently rebooted docusoap BRIDEZILLAS for a twelfth season. The revival pulled more than 2 million viewers in its premiere episode, and had double digit ratings growth throughout the 10-episode 11th season, and it’s easy to see why from THIS trailer for the 11th season (March-July 2018). Fights, shotguns, and threats to destroy your bridesmaids over a botched manicure? Check, check, and check. Whole episodes can be seen HERE, and the 10-episode 12th season will return in 2019.
    • One new series and one renewal order from CMT today:
      • NEW | RACING WIVES | T-Group Productions | TBDx60 | Q1/2019 Launch

Log line: Follows the never-before-seen private lives of women who are married to world famous race car drivers, plus one female aspiring NASCAR driver, Amber Balcaen, who left her entire life behind in Canada to pursue racing in North Carolina, the heart of NASCAR country.

  • RENEWAL | MUSIC CITY | Done and Done Productions in association with Lionsgate | 10×60 | Q1/2019 Launch

Log line: Season two will feature a shocking break-up, a wedding, a cutthroat Miss USA competition, unexpected friendships and new explosive rivalries. Returning are fledgling musician Kerry, and his wife, Rachyl, personal trainer Jackson, and his cousin, pageant queen Alexandra, as well as musicians Jessica and Alisa. New faces this season include Rachyl and Kerry’s old friend Jeremiah, Kerry’s new manager Tori, and Jackson’s childhood friend Stephen.

  • Adam DiVello (creator of The Hills) will continue to executive produce
  • BUSINESS BRIEFS:
    • American cable provider Comcast (and owner of NBC) has given its subscribers the option to vote for AMERICA’S GOT TALENT acts via the company’s X1 voice controlled remote. A simple “vote for AGT” when prompted during the broadcast will give subscribers the ability to vote via voice. Similar to Amazon’s Alexa, Comcast has seen use of the voice remote as a primary reason subscribers continue to stay tied to the cable company in a time when cord-cutting is still far outpacing adoption forecasts.
      • Comcast is building on the service, actively seeking partners across the industry to build in and innovate with interactive and unique viewing experiences.
