  • LeBron James executive produces through his SpringHill Entertainment banner
  • Fly on the Wall Entertainment (Big Brother) will produce in concert with SpringHill and Warner Horizon Unscripted & Alternative TV will be the studio
  • ABC has renewed its Sunday lineup of game shows: CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD will come back for its fifth season, while $100,000 PYRAMID and TO TELL THE TRUTH have each been renewed for season four. The Sunday block has been a ratings driver for the network, leading it to primetime wins among adults 18-49 every week this summer.
  • BUSINESS BRIEFS:
    • Core Media (American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance) has acquired Eli Holzman’s Intellectual Property Corporation (Leah Remini: Scientology & The Aftermath). The newly merged companies will relaunch immediately as Industrial Media, with Holzman continuing on in his role at IPC while also becoming CEO of Industrial Media.
      • Plans to grow the company include strategic acquisitions and investments, as well as additional merger opportunities
      • IPC will still operate independently alongside other companies under the Core umbrella (Sharp Entertainment, B-17 Entertainment, Thumb Candy, and 19 Entertainment)
      • Shows under the united Industrial Media banner span more than 20 networks and in excess of 40 titles including The Wall for NBC, 90 Day Fiancé franchise for TLC, and Facebook trivia show Confetti
    • After less than a year in the post, Heather Schuster is out as Head of Unscripted at Amazon Studios. According to my sources over at Amazon, while it’s being reported that she was left go after an investigation into her verbally abusive behavior (apparently, she was a complete asshole to her assistant and alienated her team), that’s not the whole picture. After losing trust with her team and reports of the behavior reached management, questions surrounding her business trip expenses, and lost/bad deals began to pile up until her exit was announced today. No news yet of a potential replacement and it’s unclear where this leaves Amazon overall unscripted strategy; the streamer has a limited presence in the arena currently (obvious exception is The Grand Tour).
