Ratings Report:

  • ABC put up the biggest numbers, but CBS had the steadiest night on Monday. After reruns of both MOM and LIFE IN PIECES, CBS’ summer dramas remained steady for a second week in a row; SALVATION earned another 0.3, while ELEMENTARY stayed at 0.4.
  • ABC took the night overall, but numbers were down by a tenth for both THE BACHELORETTE (1.5) and THE PROPOSAL (0.7).
  • NBC’s AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR held steady with last week, raking in another 1.1, while DATELINE ticked down a tenth to 0.8.
  • On Fox, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE put up another solid 0.6; it was the same story on the CW, where PENN & TELLER: FOOL US and WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? put up their usual 0.3s.

Of Note:

  • The 30th anniversary of Shark Week kicked off to a rousing start for Discovery, which took all three of the top spots on cable ratings Sunday night. In first place was SHAQ DOES SHARK WEEK, earning a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49, followed closely by RONDA ROUSEY UNCAGED (1.0) and BEAR VS. SHARK (0.9).
  • Elsewhere, Starz’s POWER ticked down one-tenth from a 0.7 to a 0.6. After taking a similar hit last week, though, TNT’s CLAWS raked popped back up this week, earning a 0.5. Bravo’s THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF THE POTOMAC was steady with another 0.4.
  • HBO’s SHARP OBJECTS, starring Amy Adams, scored a 0.3 for the second week in a row, while on FX, POSE finished off its first season by maintaining its near season-long 0.3 streak.

  • Latest in non-scripted shows and development:
    • A&E is set to premiere its first franchise expansion of Nightwatch, titled NIGHTWATCH NATION. The 10×30 series will follow EMTs in Yonkers, New York; Austin, Texas; Tucson, Arizona, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana as they are called out to emergencies around their cities. Trailer HERE
    • Lindsay Lohan has reportedly teamed with Bunim/Murray for a Vanderpump Rules-style show for MTV. The series would center around Lohan’s beach club resort in Mykonos, Greece.
    • CBS Studios International will be showcasing limited 8×60 event series ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA at Mipcom in October.
      • Log line: The prison-break drama is based on the headline-making true story of a 2015 prison break in upstate New York, which spawned a massive manhunt for convicted murderers Richard Matt and David Sweat. The pair were aided in their escape by a married female prison worker, Tilly Mitchell, with whom both were sexually involved.
