Ratings Report:

  • Monday’s primetime schedule was scrambled, due to the orange monstrosity’s announcement of his pick for the Supreme Court. The 21-minute announcement threw most shows into overrunning their timeslots, so ratings between the 9-10pm hour will have greater shifts than usual in the finals. That being said, there was relatively little movement on shows’ ratings week-to-week.
  • Currently on top is ABC’s THE BACHELORETTE, scoring a 1.4 among adults 18-49 and up two tenths from last week, and a three-tenth bump for THE PROPOSAL, up to a 1.0 this week versus 0.7 last week.
  • AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR on NBC fared well, also increasing three tenths to earn a 1.0 for the night. Only CBS’ SALVATION retreated, down a tenth to 0.3, while SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE on Fox rose slightly, up a tenth to 0.7.
  • Completely untouched by the SCOTUS announcement was the CW; new episodes of PENN & TELLER: FOOL US and WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? put up their usual 0.3 ratings.

Of Note:

  • History Channel scored the top spot of the night on Sunday, as EVEL LIVE brought in a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 and just under 3.5 million viewers, making it the top cable special of the year (excluding news and sports). The special, a tribute to legendary daredevil featured American professional motorsports icon Travis Pastrana completing three of Evel Knievel’s most dangerous feats live from Las Vegas, Nevada, all while riding a modern-day recreation inspired by the motorcycle Knievel used.
  • The rest of the field had a quieter night, with a cluster of shows around the 0.5 mark, including TNT’s CLAWS, up a tenth from its 0.4 last week, and the premiere of SHARP OBJECTS, the Amy Adams-led murder mystery on HBO.
  • POWER on Starz took a significant hit in its second week, earning a 0.3 in adults 18-49, half that of its 0.6 premiere rating.
